Sayeang Tea Estate was established on May 29 1988 by Mr Honlei Konyak. He started with a small plantation as a trial run which was a success and has now expanded to commercial production. The plantation has provided employment opportunity to around 80 workers and runs its own school for the villagers. Currently there is no factory for processing in Nagaland and the raw leaves are sent to Assam, the transportation is expensive leading to a reduced profit.
