Mr. Honlei Konyak is Chairman of the village. He introduced tea cultivation in 1988 to Mon district and currently has the largest tea plantation in Mon district. He encouraged fellow villagers and people of the surrounding area to start tea cultivation. By taking example of his hard work and dedication many people of Mon district have improved their economic situation. Now there are more than 90 small tea planters in the district. In addition to tea he has a Patchouli and Lemon Grass Oil distillation plant, cultivates lemon and oranges plus tree plantations of Teak and other trees.
